The 4-wire EasyTREK & EchoTREK compact ultrasonic level transmitter (transmitter) was previously only offered for solids level monitoring tasks where more complex, two-piece systems perform adequately. NIVELCO’s highly efficient SenSonic narrow angle transducers with superior signal transmission enable EasyTREK & EchoTREK units to overcome filling noise, dusting and uneven surface formations to provide a high performance, compact, dust and solids level transmitter in most situations. This is provided by QUEST+ software, which uses advanced processing-adaptive signal processing for reliable echo tracking, providing a best-in-class solution.

General Features of Ultrasonic Level Transmitters
Ultrasonic level measurement technology is based on the principle of measuring the time it takes for ultrasound pulses to travel the distance from the sensor to the surface of the medium and back. Echoes returning from the surface reach the face of the sensor after the time of flight of the ultrasonic pulse. The time of flight of the reflected signal is measured and processed by the electronics, which is then converted into data proportional to distance, level, volume or mass with the help of customizable tank shape and dimensions. The intelligent QUEST+ process adaptive signal processing software system enables the electronics to identify and verify the solid surface signal, providing reliable level monitoring. Cone or arcing caused by the fill/dump operation can negatively cause a weak echo when the transducer is installed vertically. A key part of EasyTREK & EchoTREK level transmitters, the joystick aiming device offers a viable solution to minimize most of these negative effects. The optimum tilting position can be adjusted during operation and is recommended to be controlled at multiple levels during the fill/empty process. As a general rule, the best results are obtained by pointing the transducer at the center of the tank bottom.
Ultrasonic Level Transmitters in a Computerized System
HART® output devices can be connected to a PC with a UNICOMM HART-USB modem interface. A HART® multidrop loop can consist of a maximum of 15 transmitters. All measured values can be visualized and/or EasyTREK / EchoTREK transmitters can be programmed remotely by PC. Applicable software: EView2 configuration software or NIVISION process visualization software.
Ultrasonic Level Sensor in the HART® MULTIDROP Loop
MultiCONT processes and displays measurement data provided by NIVELCO’s HART® equipped transmitters connected to a Multidrop loop. Up to 15 transmitters (also mixed models) can be connected and remote programming via MultiCONT is also possible. It is possible to retransmit data to a PC or PLC over the RS485 communication line, if necessary.
