With its shortest definition, YDRIX – RTU provides central control in scada systems and fulfills the task of communication between the center and the scada system. It is formed by the combination of the initials of the English Remote Terminal Unit words. As it can be understood from its English language, it collects the physical equipment, sensors, inputs and outputs and measurement device data in the field and transmits it to the central unit. At the same time, the information in the central unit provides remote control in the field. It is an RTU compatible with all SCADA software in YDRIX.

Sofrel YDRIX Compatible with All SCADA Software RTU series is a modular device series for water management, telecontrol and automation applications in all areas of energy supply. This device series has been developed to meet the requirements of a wide range of applications. S OFREL YDRIX Smart RTU for water network telemetry
Designed to meet the needs of water network operators, SOFREL YDRIX combines integrated 4G communication, cybersecurity and process control in a single product. Equipped with 6DI , 2AI , 4DO and RS485/RS485i and RS232 serial communication ports, SOFREL YDRIX RTU facilitates the addition of Input/Output expansion modules, pumps can be interfaced very easily with valves, sensors and modbus equipment in hydraulic plants. It offers fully modular and “waterwork” function blocks and adapts to any type and size of installation.

A complete process control package and an extensive library of “water management” function blocks

Installation processes are published in a process control package available in SOFREL YDRIX. The very powerful package complies with the IEC 61131-3 standard and offers standard programming languages ST, Ladder, FBD and SFC (Grafcet).

RTU has a large library of function blocks devoted to waterwork (volume calculations, flow rates, PID editing functionality, etc.). Process control technicians can use a wide variety of testing, simulation and online startup tools to develop and adapt their programs onsite or remotely.

SOFREL YDRIX users will especially appreciate the 2G/3G/4G modem and 2 Ethernet ports fully integrated into the chassis. SetIT configuration software provides simple and graphical configuration. For greater efficiency, the software includes a help feature and diagnostic tool to assist the user in every step of equipment configuration.

Secure communication with standard SCADA systems

Interoperability with DNP3 and IEC-60870-5-104 protocols for interfacing with all supervisors, TCP/IP networks and operators’ supervisors is guaranteed by the standard communication protocols DNP3 and IEC-60870-5-104 supported by SOFREL YDRIX. Based on these protocols, the RTU fits perfectly into existing telemetry and SCADA networks and securely communicates with any standard industrial supervisor.

Full IP communication and media support redundancy
SOFREL YDRIX RTU is “full IP”; It communicates with the SCADA Central Station via an integrated 2G/3G/4G modem or its Ethernet connections.

These multiple systems allow redundancy between communication media. In case of failure of the main telecommunications network, SOFREL YDRIX automatically switches to secondary support. Operators can rely on this system to never lose information and recover all network data in real time.

Cybersecured, supporting SOFREL YDRIX protocols to secure the VPN server infrastructure. RTUs and operational auditors are verified and validated. Data exchanged between connected systems is fully encrypted.

M2M communication with Sofrel LS/LT data loggers
SOFREL LS and LT data loggers located at network isolated sites can communicate with a remote SOFREL YDRIX. The RTU receives the information from the dataloggers and when deciding whether to fill the reservoir, it also takes into account the needs of the grid and electricity price periods. They also allow remote control of the pressure in the water distribution network.
