SAP continues its efforts to transform the way its users do business and to provide them with further advantages, and with the BO 4.3 version, it provides a brand new and modern user experience.
With the new version of BusinessObjects BI 4.3 released in June 2020, users are being offered a new and modern user interface and a number of new features. With SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.3, organizations can now fulfil their on-premise needs while leveraging the strength of the cloud platform, accelerating their digital transformation. BusinessObjects BI 4.3 provides an improved integration between SAP BusinessObjects BI and SAP Analytics Cloud further enabling organizations to manage all types of analytics.
The improvements in SAP BusinessObjects 4.3 have three key areas of focus:
Enhanced SAP Analytics Cloud live connectivity
Simplified SSO configuration and user management
Analytics Hub integration
New Fiorified BI Launch Pad, with a modern look and feel
One HTML5 Web Intelligence client
New Web Intelligence Data Management
Enhancements in key BI suite components as Applications, Notifications, Scheduling and Publications.
Simplified installation and deployment
High Security & Compliance Standards
Administrator Tools
Improved Audit Functionalities
Installation, Maintenance and Support
BI 4.3 can be installed as a new installation or as an in-place upgrade of an existing SBOP BI 4.2 installation. Maintenance will be extended to 2025 and it will be supported through at least 2027.
SAP BusinessObjects BI Suite
With the SAP BusinessObjects Suite 4.3 version:
-The users will have a brand new and modern user experience for Business Intelligence Launchpad and Web Intelligence that works under HTML5 removing the need for Java.
-Reducing the total cost of ownership through security enhancements and improved deployments in the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC) infrastructure is among the priorities. In order to aid hybrid deployments, the users were authorized to let on-premises users into the cloud and keep them synchronized with authentication systems.
Ongoing efforts on improving SAP BusinessObjects BI suite include improving the user experience for business users. This is achieved through further enhancements on interoperability capabilities, quality and scalability. Moreover, investments were made to simplify the usability through installation and deployment options.
New enhancements to SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence and SAP Crystal Reports include ongoing improvements to user experience, key models and hybrid capabilities. Crystal Reports publications can now be created, managed and scheduled in the recently designed Fiorified BI Launch Pad user interface.
The Best of Both Worlds
For existing BusinessObject users with a BI cloud strategy, SAP plans to work closely with its customers in order to continue improving the capabilities of Analytics Cloud. In this way, it plans migration scenarios to move on-premises workloads to the cloud, protecting the in-house investments of its customers.
SAP’s hybrid strategy is on the move with BI 4.3. This enables the customers to better leverage their use cases in a hybrid environment. For example, data exploration in the SAP Analytics Cloud and operational reporting with SAP BusinessObjects platform are now doable.
In a future release, scheduled to be released simultaneously with BI 4.3, users will be able to leverage SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence data models to create stories.
