Nicole: Hello, my dear teacher and friends. I’m gonna read you my essay about my best friend, Janet. I hope you like it. I met Janet when we were only 8 years old. She moved to Turkey from England with her parents 9 years ago and has been living here since then. Janet and I have never been separated. We always went to the same school and we still live in the same neighborhood. Our friendship keeps getting stronger day by day. So, who’s this girl that I call my best friend? First of all, she is tall with red hair and brown eyes. Her hair is long and wavy. She has dimples that make her smile really beautiful. She also has freckles on her cheeks and nose, which she doesn’t like, but I think they make her beautiful. What is more beautiful than her freckles is her personality. She is friendly, helpful, and always fun to be around. She knows how to stand by her friends and help them in any way she can. She is the shoulder you cry on. One time, Janet and I were walking home from school and someone shouted behind us. She looked back and saw it was one of our classmates who fell down and hurt her ankle. Janet ran to her and helped her all the way home. Another time at school, our teacher asked us to find the student who is the most easygoing and everyone pointed their fingers at Janet. She is loved by everyone. For example, Mr. Richardson, our Physics teacher, is a very serious man, but even he laughs at Janet’s jokes. Janet is also a very talented person. She plays the guitar and sings at the school choir. She also likes swimming at weekends. We always go swimming in our local pool on Sundays. In the future, she wants to be a doctor and help everyone who needs help. And of course, she wants to live close to me because it’s our dream to stay best friends forever.
