Kastamonu Entegre (KEAŞ) is a group company of Hayat Holding and we are responding to the needs of KEAŞ, that seeks for an effective solution for report management, with SAP Analytics Cloud project.
Kastamonu Entegre (KEAŞ) is a group company of Hayat Holding whose roots date back to 1937. The subject company is involved in wood-based panel business and has exports to more than 100 countries including India and countries in Central America. KEAŞ ranks first in Turkey, fourth in Europe and sixth in the world in wood products business and continues its journey to become a global brand with its over 6,000 employees.
KEAŞ is involved in production and sales of wood products and has been using a variety of reports operating on various modules to run its business processes smoothly. Having migrated the SAP BW system it has been using for reporting processes to SAP BW/4HANA last year, the company needed an effective solution to sort out these numerous and complex reports. Once the company decided to choose IBSS expertise, together we started a comprehensive project. This project offers an easy-to-use solution for all users by moving the reporting processes on SAP BW/4HANA to the SAP Analytics Cloud .
Stages of the Project
For the time being, the project is on the verge of completion. In the first stage of the project, the lists of reports were discussed. In order to determine the needs, we carried out a cleaning and adjustment process within 250 reports of KEAŞ located on SAP Fiori. We grouped and matched the relevant reports on all report lists used. During the process, reports that were duplicates of one another or that do not offer effective functionality were eliminated, while new reports that need to be created were also defined.
After the cleaning phase, we started to implement the reports on Analytics Cloud according to their topics and priorities. We created the relevant reports on Analytics Cloud for Sales, Profitability and Production-Shipping-Inventory groups, respectively. Following this stage, we started working on reporting of financial processes from profit and loss account statements to pricing management of certain raw materials. These were followed by efforts for maintenance process.
The reports which are a priority for the company have gone live in a short period of time. Consequently, these efforts have enabled KEAŞ to have reporting functionality that allows to have Summary Reports for Sales, Profitability, Production-Inventory-Shipping, Cost and Maintenance as well as Analysis Reports, and to carry out cross-analysis between modules.
As IBSS , we are also working on some developments on BW/4HANA. Within the scope of these developments, for instance after determining what to do on the front end of the system, the relevant topic is reconsidered for BW/4HANA and stages such as new upgrades, data extraction, new model creation, new queries are being executed. In order to make this work, live connections between BW/4HANA and Analytics Cloud are used. Thus, the workload can be distributed and everything associated with data can be carried out by BW whereas visual stuff can be handled on the Analytics Cloud. In this respect, the project offers a solution where BW/4HANA and Analytics Cloud work synchronously.
Project Method
As part of the Analytics Cloud project we implemented for KEAŞ, the system was completely overhauled and cleaned, sets of reports were arranged and missing reports were added to the sets, then the phase of implementation of reports on Analytics Cloud has begun.
Within the scope of this fairly agile project, regular meetings are being held and the project process is followed through open task lists. Hence, dashboards are classified according to their status as “Concept”, “Design”, “Revision”, “Test” and “Live”. They are marked according to which status they are in and a dashboard goes live once the tests are completed and is ready to go. A large part of the project, where almost 40 reports will be implemented in total, has been successfully completed.
Benefits of the Project
Within the scope of the project, Story, Application Design and Catalog features of Analytics Cloud have been utilized. After the creation of reports with the Catalog feature, a separate card was prepared for each group of reports. Thanks to these cards on the Catalog page of Analytics Cloud , for instance, the links of all reports associated with sales are listed under a single card, and employees of KEAŞ can easily access these reports presented in an organized fashion. In addition to benefiting from organized and easy-to-use reports, KEAŞ can perform customer analysis, as well. Mobile development stage of the project will likely start very soon and more compact designs will be organized to have a better layout on the screens of mobile devices.
